discovery

I love Death Cab for Cutie's new CD Plans, especially "Soul Meets Body." It's a beautiful song, the most perfect song I've heard in a long time. I compare the structure of it to how I design a quilt - the color is the melody, and the geometric shapes represent the rhythm.

It's funny - I don't really listen to "music" radio much, but riding around in my car, I heard this song on one station, and was intrigued. While painting my daughter's bedroom over two days, I heard it again and it was so beautiful, that I knew I had to own it, so while my teenage daughter looked on proudly, I went to Barnes & Noble and bought it. For a few weeks it was almost like chocolate cake - I played it over and over, revelling in it, but then I realized that, again like chocolate cake, I would get sick of it and it would be ruined for me if I overindulged in it. The rest of the CD isn't bad, either. A different perspective. I'm (probably wrongly) not interested in much popular music these days - I feel like twenty-somethings don't really have anything new or insightful to say to me, so I'm mostly unfamiliar with the new music. DCFC is a world unto themselves, however.
Is it a popular song in FL?
